UBB

Babeș-Bolyai University is the largest in the country – every year almost 50000 students are attending various specialisations in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, as well as Doctoral studies. Our University promotes and sustains the development of multiculturality and our students or international students may enrol in programmes held in numerous languages, the dominant being Romanian, Hungarian, German, English, and French. UBB is also the oldest institution of higher education in Romania, having its origins traced back to 1581. Our university’s name itself celebrates this spirit of unity and intellectual excellence, honoring two of Transylvania’s greatest minds: the Romanian biologist Victor Babeș and the Hungarian mathematician János Bolyai. UBB occupies the first position among the Romanian universities in the major international rankings of universities.
