Gaétan Hains, University Paris-Est Créteil, France

With over 35 years of experience in teaching and research in computer science, he is currently Professor of Computer Science and Vice President of Digital Technology at the University of Paris-Est Créteil. His career has been marked by significant expertise in parallel computing and system security, fields in which he has published over a hundred papers and contributed as a Senior Research Engineer at Huawei Technologies. His role at UPEC is a continuation of his commitment to research and teaching in computer science, with a particular focus on software security, confidentiality, and formal methods. With the support of his team, they are working to advance applications in sectors as diverse as finance, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and automated commerce, while remaining at the forefront of innovation in training and doctoral supervision.

On the first day of the conference, Wednesday, March 25, Prof. Gaétan Hains (University Paris-Est Créteil, France) will deliver a keynote address entitled From algorithm to code to hardware to execution: why isn’t computing performance an experimental science?, scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The presentation will take place in the Aula Magna.

Radu Prodan, University of Innsbruck, Austria

Radu Prodan is University Professor in distributed systems at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, where he heads the newly established research group “AIM AT Endowed Chair for Edge AI”. He is an internationally recognised leading researcher in the fields of distributed and parallel systems, applied artificial intelligence, big data processing and analytics. He coordinated and participated in numerous national and international projects. He is the author of one book, over 150 journal and conference publications, and is the recipient of two IEEE best paper awards.

On the second day of the conference, Thursday, March 26, Prof. Radu Prodan (University of Innsbruck, Austria) will deliver a keynote address entitled Distribute and Learn 1 Billion, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The presentation will take place in the Nicolae Iorga Amphitheater.

Marco Aldinucci, University of Torino, Italy

Marco Aldinucci is a full professor at the University of Turin and leads the Parallel Computing research group and the rector’s delegate for AI. He has published over 200 papers, received major awards (HPC Advisory Council, IBM Faculty), and led EU projects that secured €15M in funding for the University of Torino. He co-designed open-source frameworks like Fastflow and Streamflow and founded several national HPC labs, including HPC4AI and the CINI HPC and Software & Integration laboratories.

On the second day of the conference, Thursday, March 26, Prof. Marco Aldinucci ( University of Torino, Italy) will deliver a keynote address entitled Streaming Workflows: From Scientific Applications to AI and Back, scheduled from 13:30 to 14:30. The presentation will take place in the Nicolae Iorga Amphitheater.

Dana Petcu, West University of Timisoara, Romania

Dana Petcu (Mrs., PhD) is Professor at Computer Science Department of West University of Timișoara, and Director of Institute for Advanced Environmental Research and of the research spin-off Institute e-Austria Timisoara. Her interest in distributed and parallel computing is reflected in more than two hundred papers about Cloud, Grid, Cluster or HPC computing. She is and was involved in several projects funded by European Commission and other research funding agencies, as coordinator, scientific coordinator, or local team leader.

On the third day of the conference, Friday, March 27, Prof. Dana Petcu, West University of Timișoara, Romania, will deliver a keynote address entitled Edge AI: research, technologies and applications, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The presentation will take place in the Nicolae Iorga Amphitheater.
